My Indian Story

Hello and Welcome!

Breathe In. Breathe Out. Repeat.

Hi, my name is Debbie Smith, and ​for more than five years, I have ​lived in southern India: the land of ​sunshine, spices and spirituality. ​Believe it or not, I first became ​keen to learn about Yoga soon ​after my 60th birthday - well, I was ​living in India! Slowly but surely, I ​found traditional asana classes gave ​me increased physical flexibility ​and an unexpected sense of calm. ​It also ignited a particular interest ​in the potential of Yogic breathing ​or pranayama.

Guided breathwork brought me an ​amazing sense of composure, increased ​stamina and a wonderful feeling of well-​being. Fascinated by the remarkable ​benefits of pranayama, my breathing ​practice naturally extended to the ​restorative effects of mindfulness and ​meditation: fundamental limbs of Yoga ​for thousands of years.

‘Own Your Breath’ has been created in ​order to share with you the incredible ​benefits and revelations I have ​discovered through my personal ​journey.
